My neighbor Kevin's 2014 Cub trans failed last year under 300 hrs, maintained at a local mower shop every season so todays hydro's are just designed for short life. We kept our fans clean and changed trans oil every 100hrs in both using JD OEM oil because our JD dealers mechanic told us too. My sisters newer 110 Deere trans went south two yrs ago after her mowing only 1/2 acre all flat, done with 323hrs, neither of us tow/plow. First trans went 170hrs fixed under warranty. ![]() My x300 (2010) started failing last fall for its 2nd time so tomorrow I'm selling it cheap as parts mower 534hrs. Unless 7-10yrs is lasting long to you, certainly not to me? Well' I know this question was long ago but' after googling about my JD trans it caught my eye so I signed up to say with a resounding "YES!!!" but shamefully its not just low end models failing to last.
